What are the steps involved in the process of obtaining Domain
Name Registration?
After you purchase the Domain Name Registration service, you will receive a submission
form via email requesting your top three domain name choices. You can then return
the submission form via email, fax or mail. Once we receive the submission form,
we will check the availability of your choices starting with your top pick, then
moving to your second and third choice if the first is not available.
Your domain
name will be registered in 1-5 business days and a confirmation will be sent to
you via email to verify your official domain name. The domain name can take up to
24 hours to become functional once it is registered. The registration lasts for
one year, and you will be given the option to renew the registration before it expires.
Do I get my own Web site with a domain name?
The domain name is not the same as a Web site. What this serivice provides is a
domain name that links directly to your Web page on the AuthorCrossing Bookstore, but
you do not receive an additional Web site with this service. You can customize the
text (the about the author, about the book and free preview) on your Bookstore Web
page through your AuthorCrossing account, but the general layout is not customizable.

Is my domain name registered with search engines, such as
Google™?
Registered Domain Names are not registered or searchable through search engines,
such as Google™ or Yahoo! ™.
What happens if I do not renew my domain name before it expires?
If you do not renew your domain name before it expires, there is a possibility that
you could lose your previously registered domain name, preventing you from registering
it again. Although you can always pick a different domain name, it can be troublesome
especially for the main functionality of a domain, which is to be used on marketing
and promotional material and to be easily remembered by potential book buyers.

Will I be reminded to renew my domain name before it expires?
Yes, we will send you a reminder email two months before your domain name expires,
and you will be able to track the purchase date through your Author Account Panel.
My domain name isn't working. What should I do?
If you are having trouble with your domain name, there are a few possibilities as
to why. Make sure you are entering the domain name in the actual Web browser, not
in a search engine's browser, such as Google™ or Yahoo! ™. Second, if
your domain name was just registered, it can take 24 hours before it is functional.
Third, if your domain name has been registered for some time, check your original
purchase date to ensure that a year has not passed and it has expired. Last, make
sure that you are connected to the Internet properly. If you have looked into these
items and you are still having trouble, please contact us and we will be happy to
look into the issue.
