Can I track my royalties and sales?
Yes, authors can track current quarterly AuthorCrossing sales as well as review previous quarterly statements through www.wordclay.com on your Author Control Panel page. Current sales figures in the Author Control Panel only reflect sales through the AuthorCrossing Web site. They do NOT reflect sales through the Retail Distribution Channel.
When will the sale show up in my Author Control Panel?
The Author Control Panel will not reflect the sale of an order until that order has shipped. It takes about 2-3 days for a paperback to print before shipping.
Will orders that the author placed, receiving the author discount, be listed on the Author Control Panel?
No, purchases made with the author discount do not earn royalty and will not be reflected on the Author Control Panel or Quarterly Statements.

When am I paid my royalties?
We pay the royalties for your book sales on a quarterly basis. When your royalty earnings for a book reach $20, we will pay your royalties. We will continue to hold your royalties until the balance due to you is $20 or more. The quarterly schedule is as follows:
Quarter | Date Range | Statements Mailed Out |
1st Quarter | Jan 1 – March 31 | Late May/Early June |
2nd Quarter | Apr 1 – June 30 | Late Aug/Early Sept |
3rd Quarter | July 1 – Sept 30 | Late Nov/Early Dec |
4th Quarter | Oct 1 – Dec 31 | Late Feb/Early March |
For each quarter, you are paid for the books sold and shipped in the given time frame. If a book was purchased online on March 30th, but the book was not actually printed and shipped until April 2nd, then you would be paid in the 2nd quarter, not the 1st, since the book didn't ship until the 2nd quarter.
You will only be paid once for the original book sale. For instance, if a book is resold in any kind of second-hand store, you will not earn a royalty on the purchase, since we have no way to track that kind of sale. Also, you earn a royalty when a retailer purchases your book for their store (when the book is printed), but not when the consumer actually purchases the book off the shelf.

What is the difference between a channel or retail sale and a AuthorCrossing sale?
If you purchased distribution, there are two different kinds of sales. (If you have the standard AuthorCrossing only distribution, then retail sales do not apply to you.) When a book is sold through our Web site, it is considered a AuthorCrossing sale. A retail, or channel sale, is when the book is sold through any retailer other than AuthorCrossing (like amazon.com or Borders). The selling price must be the same for both AuthorCrossing and retail sales, but you will earn a different royalty amount depending on the type of sale.
